Kings CourtSome months ago our Grand Superintendent was the lucky winner of a 3 Litre (yes 3!!) bottle of Red wine at a Masonic Meeting. Somewhat at a loss as to how he and his wife could consume the 3 litres – he decided to take it to a regular Convocation of Kings Court and to share it with all those drinking red wine that evening.

Properly emptied, he was approached by that well known “twister of arms” – the Chapter Charity Steward, Companion Lawrence Jones , who asked if he could raise money with it for Teddies for Loving Care. Obviously the Grand Superintendent was delighted and over the next few months coins were duly extracted from Companions and visitors to Kings Court Chapter until the bottle could take no more. To finish – a competition was held to guess the amount contained. At the Installation Convocation evening the amount announced was a magnificent total of £709.90p and the Companion who guessed closest was none other than the newly Installed First Principal, Geoff Chatton, who came within £8.40 of the total (bodes well for an excellent year!!)
